The story of the workers in the vineyard is another parable that I forgot about. I think that it is amazing that all you have to do to go to heaven is to accept Jesus as your savor and believe that he died to wash away your sins. Just like it says in verse 16. So the last will be first and the first will be last. A guy that has just accepted Christ 5 minutes ago will go to the same heaven as a lifelong christian who has dedicated his entire life to the lord. Can you imagine if God required us to complete a checklist before we were allowed into heaven?
I also think that it is incredible that God sent his son here to Earth. I also liked verse 28. Jesus did not come to earth to be served but to serve. Anytime I here a verse like that it makes me want to help others. If God can send his only son to serve me then what am I doing to serve others.

I have to agree with you Jay with the parable of the vineyard workers. I forgot about it completely. While I was reading it I was thinking about the two thieves that were on the hill with Jesus. That simple act of accepting Jesus allows us to be with him forever, regardless on how much time we are Christians. I assume that this is where the Catholic Church pulled the idea of the Last Rites.
The section of Chapter 20 that I liked the most was the story of the request from the mother of James and John. I don’t remember the story before, but it made me think about how often we ask God to grant us things and we don’t know the consequences of what we ask. I think God shakes his head at us a lot.
